    Summary

    • Art Central 2026 hosts its largest edition with 117 galleries and 500+ artists from 50+ countries
    • Highlights include Central Stage, the Neo sector and large-scale Yi Tai installations
    • The fair runs through March 29, 2026 at Central Harbourfront in Hong Kong

Art Central has returned to its iconic Central Harbourfront home for its eleventh and largest edition to date. As a foundational pillar of Hong Kong Art Month, the 2026 fair presents a global lineup of 117 galleries and over 500 artists from more than 50 countries and regions. This year’s curation remains deeply committed to the local arts ecosystem, with 30% of presentations featuring Hong Kong-based talent and 85% representing the broader Asia-Pacific region.

A major highlight of this edition is the debut of Central Stage, a curated platform spotlighting six internationally acclaimed artists whose practices grapple with shifting historical and urban contexts. Among the selected presentations are Yogyakarta-based seminal figure Neo Arahmaiani, whose work explores gender and cultural commodification, and the Tokyo-based collective SIDE CORE, which situates street culture within contemporary urban dynamics. The Neo sector also returns as a vital launchpad, showcasing ten emerging galleries in their first or second year at the fair, including Beijing’s Areté Space and Hong Kong’s The Gallery by SOIL.

The Yi Tai Sculpture and Installation Projects expanded the fair’s spatial reach with large-scale works by artists such as Hong Kong’s Silvester Mok‘s “The Digital Fossiliser” and OrangeTerry‘s “Found Faith,” alongside Elnaz Javani’s textile-based installation exploring migration and identity. Innovation and digital culture take center stage in the 2026 creative program curated by Zoie Yung. The fair has also commissioned a large-scale new media installation by Hong Kong artist Kaitlyn Hau titled “Recursive Feedback Ritual 0.01,” which utilizes motion-capture data to explore digital embodiment and psychiatric cycles.

Beyond the booths, Art Central 2026 offers a comprehensive program of daily performances, video art and panel discussions. Supported by the HKSAR Government’s Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund and long-standing Lead Partner UOB, the fair continues to bridge established contemporary practices with boundary-pushing emerging voices. Lead Partner UOB presents an immersive sculptural ink garden titled “White Mirror – The Vista of Inner Worlds” by Ling Pui Sze, marking the artist’s largest installation to date.

Check out some of the exhibited artworks in the gallery above. Art Central is open until March 29, 2026, with tickets available to purchase online or at the door. For more information, visit the event’s official website.
