Fans of George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones franchise have received good news regarding the new spin-off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. HBO Max will be pushing up the release of this week’s episode.

HBO Max officially confirmed that Season 1, Episode 4 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, will premiere early globally on HBO Max on Friday, Feb. 6 at 12:01 a.m. PT/3:01 a.m. E.T. It will be joined by Season 4, Episode 5 of the drama Industry, with both episodes hitting the streamer early ahead of their respective HBO airings on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 8. In the past, HBO has followed a similar release schedule, moving up episodes of other popular series to avoid competition from the Super Bowl.

Set a century before the events of Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is based on Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novella series. It stars Peter Claffey as “Dunk” The Tall, a hedge knight, with Dexter Sol Ansell as his squire, “Egg.” The prequel takes place during a time when the Targaryen family still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has yet to pass from living memory – setting things up for plenty of action and danger as Dunk and Egg venture through Westeros.

As for Industry, HBO’s financial thriller debuted in 2020 telling the story of a group of young graduates who join the prestigious Pierpoint & Co. investment bank in London. The ensemble cast includes Myha’la, Marisa Abela, Ken Leung and Sagar Radia. As Yasmin (Abela) begins navigating her relationship with tech founder Sir Henry Muck (Game of Thrones‘ Kit Harington), her friendship with Harper (Myha’la) begins to feel the pressure. The fourth season of Industry debuted on Jan. 11.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms marks the second spin-off and prequel to HBO’s hugely popular Game of Thrones franchise. Three episodes have aired to date, and each week has proven that the world of Westeros continues to resonate with audiences. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has continually been HBO Max’s most-streamed show throughout the United States, while also performing at or near the top of the charts in several other countries.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Has Already Been Renewed by HBO

Despite only just recently premiering, HBO has already shown that it has full faith in the new Game of Thrones spinoff. Back in November 2025, the network renewed it for a second season alongside a fourth season of House of the Dragon, its other Game of Thrones prequel.

“We are thrilled to be able to deliver new seasons of these two series for the next three years, for the legion of fans of the Game of Thrones universe,” HBO’s Francesca Orsi said in a statement regarding the renewals. “Together, House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms reveal just how expansive and richly imagined George R. R. Martin’s universe continues to be.”

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 1, Episode 4 and Industry Season 4, Episode 4 will premiere on HBO Max on Friday, Feb. 6 at 12:01 a.m. PT/3:01 a.m. ET.
