Over the years, Sanrio has had numerous branded items that combine its cute collection of kawaii mascot characters with the cuddly allure of Squishmallows. Now, that continues with a new version of Hello Kitty that’s showing off her good “jeans.”
The Hello Kitty 12″ Squishmallows Plush (Denim) combines the rugged appearance of denim with the cute softness of both Sanrio and Squishmallows. One of many such collaborations between the two, the cuddly collectible has embroidery befitting its blue jean concept. Now available to order, it’s the perfect way to sport a similar outfit as an equally fashionable cat.
Sanrio’s New Squishmallows Plush Toy Collectible Puts Hello Kitty in Blue Jeans
Sanrio and Squishmallows’ Hello Kitty 12″ Squishmallows Plush (Denim) has Hello Kitty trading her traditional red ribbon bow for a blue one, with this color making up her entire ensemble. The squishy plushie has light and dark shades of blue, with Hello Kitty sporting a brighter blue ribbon bow around her circular “neck.” The rest of the outfit is a denim ensemble with an open top, showcasing what appears to be a monochromatic striped T-shirt.
While the entire plushie is ultra-cuddly, the bows in particular are incredibly soft, with a velvet touch that makes them feel even more at home in the arms of those who own them. The denim material itself is embroidered with appliqué details, adding a sense of texture and realism amid the comfiness. Even Hello Kitty’s eyes and eyelashes eschew their usual black color for a purple one instead, complementing the rest of her new color scheme — although notably, this isn’t the first time the kawaii kitten has gone blue, with a previous merchandise collection released in Japan in summer 2025.

Round and adorable, the plushie is one foot in height, making it perfect to hold and carry for long flights, sleepy nights and anything in between. A new arrival amid similar collectibles, it’s now available to order online through the official Sanrio website. Currently priced at $20, it’s an easy way to add a more fashionable version of Hello Kitty to anyone’s collection, whether they love Squishmallows, Hello Kitty or both.
This is only one of the many Sanrio Squishmallows released in the past few years, with many of the previous ones depicting the more traditional designs for Hello Kitty’s friends. These include characters such as Kuromi, Pompompurin and more, with the classic Sanrio stable being a perfect match for the cuddly, fun-loving world of Squishmallows plushies. The same goes for more obscure and underrated Sanrio icons, including the sometimes overlooked Chococat, showcasing how Squishmallows can make just about anything — and anyone — cuter.
