The Hana-Kimi manga from Hisaya Nakajo is in the works for an anime adaptation that could see a 2025 debut. The original manga ran for 23 volumes between 1996 and 2004, as serialized in Hana to Yume magazine. It saw a couple of live-action TV series in Japan and one in South Korea and Taiwan as well, making it a very popular title in the region. Viz Media has released the series in English. We learned in May 2024 that an anime adaptation is coming and that Crunchyroll will stream it in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, the CIS, and India when it arrives.
The series saw a January 4th, 2026, premiere date, and Crunchyroll is handling the English dub for the property and simulcast. The Japanese side revealed in March that the second season was coming, and it recently saw a July 1st, 2026, premiere date. Now, the production has brought out a new TV spot to celebrate the series launch yesterday.
The series has Natsuki Takemura directing it with Shigeu Ueda as the assistant director. Takao Yoshioka is handling the scripts while Shi Yi Su is handling the character designs, and Signal.MD on the animation production.

- Junya Enoki as Itsuki Kujō
- Takehito Koyasu as Masao Himejima
YOASOBI performed both theme songs, “Adrena” and “BABY” for the first part. Omoinotake will perform the opening theme song “Flashbulb” and the ending theme song “Hanataba” for the second part.
