Nakama Press, Mad Cave’s imprint for foreign and manga-inspired works, has revealed The Zeros, an espionage graphic novel by writer/artist Man Tsang (the upcoming manga adaptation of Star Wars: Thrawn), translated and lettered by Book Buddy Media. The book follows Pak Ling, who was one of the most feared assassins in the organization Karma, until he walked away following a mission that ended tragically. However, after five years of laying low, he is forced back into action when a new threat emerges.

The official synopsis elaborates, “When new threats emerge, Pak Ling is forced back into a world of covert operations, shadowy alliances, and unfinished business. As old enemies resurface and loyalties are tested, he must confront the choices that defined him — and decide whether redemption is truly possible.”
Editor Kristen Simon comments, “Man Tsang delivers much more than an action thriller. Beneath the explosive battles and covert intrigue is a compelling story about guilt, redemption, and the difficult choices that define who we become. The Zeros is a fast-paced, emotionally grounded series that keeps surprising you at every turn.”
The Zeros Vol. 1 will be released on September 8, and you can check out a three-page preview below. The book is the second from Nakama to be revealed in as many days, following Hokis, Focus! Both titles were announced in the lead-up to Anime Expo in Los Angeles, which will run from today to Sunday, July 5. For more news from the event, stay tuned to The Beat. Tsang’s adaptation of Thrawn will be released by Penguin Random House afterwards on September 29.
