We learned all the way back in the summer of 2020 that the Cyberpunk 2077 world is expanding as a ten-episode original anime series being produced with Netflix that will arrive in 2022. The property saw a September 13th, 2022, release on Netflix and did pretty well for the streamer. With the first season just getting the nod for a home video release this year, Studio Trigger in July 2025 confirmed that a second series is in production. The new season is set for a ten-episode run.
The new series has Kai Ikarashi making his directorial debut with the series, working with Masahiko Otsuka on the scripts, and Ichigo Kanno as the character designer. No timeline was revealed as to when to expect it.
Now, the production has finally updated with a confirmation of a fall 2026 debut on Netflix and released a new key visual below.
Plot Concept: It presents a new standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077— a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge.
When the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?
