Ignition Press celebrates 1st publishing anniversary with 7 new series, more

It’s been two years since Ignition Press CEO Eric Gitter, publisher Filip Sablik, editor-in-chief Jamie S. Rich, and creative director Jeremy Haun founded the company, and one year since it made its public debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 and began publishing original series.

To celebrate its first publishing anniversary, Ignition has announced seven new series launching over seven weeks (July 1-August 12), an updated summer schedule, and celebrations for its previously-released and continuing series at this year’s SDCC. The Beat can reveal the exclusive details below.

7 new Ignition Press series in 7 weeks

This summer, Ignition Press will debut seven brand-new series across a variety of genres. The company is taking “lucky number seven” seriously with these launches, debuting their #1s across seven consecutive weeks.

“As it turns out, seven really is a lucky number! It’s hard to believe that nearly a full year has already flown by since we first greeted our earliest fans at the Ignition Press Room [at SDCC],” said Sablik. “I could not be prouder of the incredible stories our creators have brought to life in that time, aided by our incredible behind-the-scenes team, and of course, our retail and press partners around the world.”

“Whenever we talk to creators about pitching, they ask us what kind of stories we are looking for, and we always answer with, ‘The ones you’re dying to tell,” said Rich. “It’s amazing to see the kind of material they come back with when you remove all the guardrails. ‘The stories you think no one will publish.’ All of these books are incredibly different from one another, and yet all of them mean something to the people making them, because they aren’t being asked to chase a trend or appease a publishing brief. It’s exciting to be a part of. It’s why I come to work every day.”

Here’s a breakdown of each new series, including creative teams, synopsis, and debut date.

    • The Dogsitter #1 (July 1)
      • A romantic comedy for dog lovers from writer Jamie S. Rich and artist Megan Levens—who previously worked together on Ares & Aphrodite and Madame Frankenstein—with colors by Nick Filardi and letters by Crank!
      • Follows a 20-something veterinary student whose leave of absence turns to chaos when she stumbles into a love triangle.
    • Dispatched #1 (July 8)
      • A high-stakes action series from writer B. Clay Moore, artist Daniele Gete, colorist Lee Loughridge, and letterer AndWorld Design.
      • Follows former black ops agent Morgan Power, whose quiet existence as a delivery driver living under an alias is disrupted when he gets trapped in a parking garage during a terrorist attack on one of his shifts and must save a bunch of hostages using his past training and whatever packages are at his disposal.
    • Minotaur #1 (July 15)
      • A sci-fi series from writer Si Spurrier, artist Mike Dowling, colorist Sofie Dodgson, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.
      • Five years ago, a government supercomputer was shutdown just in time to prevent it triggering inconceivable tech evolution, but something slipped through the cracks and has been causing strange phenomena around the world ever since. Photojournalist Gloria Monday documents these instances with funding from a reformed tech entrepreneur and a former military ally.
    • Sicko #1 (July 22)
      • A medical thriller from writer Tini Howard, artist Amilcar Pinna, colorist Amanda Grazini, and letterer Ariana Maher.
      • Follows Valentine Virago, a patient with a rare, treatment-resistant autoimmune disorder that allows her to weaponize her immune system to harm others. Tired of being a guinea pig, she escapes to find her freedom—but hazmat-suited goons led by her former nurse and love interest refuse to let her get far. When he offers her a spot in a private medical facility run by his parents, he presents it as an opportunity to connect with patients like her… But Valentine is tired of being locked away.
    • The Patron #1 (July 29)
      • A fine art murder mystery from writer Christian Ward, artist John J. Pearson, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.
      • Follows Mr. Cherish, a patron of the fine arts who’s helped launched countless emerging artists to stardom… by murdering them through staged, “spectacular tragedies” and then selling their works for huge profit. Painter Matty Barnes is next on Cherish’s hit list, but this one won’t go down so easily.
    • Airwalker (August 4)
      • Ignition’s first original graphic novel, conceptualized by the late Stan Lee, written by Jeremy Haun, illustrated by Danny Luckert, and lettered by AndWorld Design.
      • Bo Chang is used to fighting, whether he’s caring for his sick mom and their family-owned bookstore in New York City’s Chinatown or throwing punches for the mobsters who control him as a prize fighter. Then, a family friend with a strange connection to his late dad reappears and Bo is exposed to “a god particle,” which gives him the power to walk on air and paints a massive target on his back.
    • Cult-de-Sac #1 (August 12)
      • A suburban horror from writer Cullen Bunn, artist Fico Ossio, colorist Ulises Arreola, and letterer AndWorld Design.
      • Follows the Hanson family, who just moved into a new home and are suddenly faced with the most terrifying (like, literally evil) HOA of all time.

Ignition Press at San Diego Comic-Con 2026

Ignition Press will celebrate all of its previously-released and ongoing series at SDCC ’26 with promotions and activations for convention attendees. The publisher will additionally offer exclusives for all of its new series. More details will be announced closer to the convention date.

Last year’s launch was a big one for Ignition, and it hasn’t slowed down since. Based on its anniversary plans, it doesn’t seem like the team intends to let up on the gas anytime soon.

“Every aspect of comics is about taking risks,” said Haun. “Creators put themselves out there making these things. Publishers take a risk sending those wild stories out into the world. Retailers take a risk that those comics will connect with an audience and sell. And finally, fans risk laying down their hard-earned dollars hoping to find their next favorite series. We set out to make a company that celebrated the spirit of taking risk to tell stories.

“Now, a year later, we’ve published over 20 all-new stories from some of the most amazing voices in comics. I’m so proud of every single person that’s contributed to the success that we’ve had over the past year—from the creators to the retailers, to the fans that have shown such unwavering support for us at Ignition. It’s risk. All of it. And you know what? It’s absolutely worth it,” Haun continued.
