Back in October 2025, we talked about how the domain name had been registered for the Reiwa no Dara-san manga, giving hope that the recently Yen Press-licensed series will be announced soon. The anime adaptation was confirmed in December 2025 with a 2026 debut set. The project has Tadato Suzuki directing it with Koichi Kikuta on the character designs and Asahi Production on the animation production.
With a July 2nd, 2026, premiere date, the show is getting a three-volume run of limited edition releases through Kadokawa. The first limited edition set is priced at 25,000 yen, with four episodes per set. Regular edition DVD and Blu-ray releases are priced at 11,000 and 13,000 yen each, respectively. Check out the full schedule and known details below.
The Japanese cast includes Mutsumi Tamura as Dara-san, Minami Tsuda as Hinata Misogiya, Momoka Terasawa as Kaoru Misogiya, Aoi Koga as Amane Hasegawa, Tomokazu Sugita as Naomichi Fudeki, and Mai Aizawa as Miwa Ikago.
The opening theme song is “Dara Dara♡Dancing” performed by Mutsumi Tamura in character as Dara, while the ending theme song is “Hinatabocchi” as performed by REIRIE.
The series comes from Haruomi Tomotsuka, which began in 2022 through ComicWalker for Kadokawa and has six volumes out so far, and is ongoing.

Plot Concept: Clouds blacken the sky and sheets of rain turn the mountain forest into a treacherous maze… A landslide crushes a razor wire fence, and buries a “NO TRESPASSING” sign… Two young siblings wander into a dark world where they do not belong, and a long, horrid shadow rears up to meet them— Anyway, so that’s how we met Dara-san! She might look kinda scary, but just wait until you get to know her!
“Look, I’m a god of misfortune, okay!? Aren’t you kids gonna freak out about my grotesque visage!?”
