Dark Horse has announced The Witcher: The Last Wish — Complete Collection, an oversized hardcover collection of the publisher’s graphic novels adapting the first six short stories by author Andrzej Sapkowski. The book will include a new comic of the framing device from the prose version of The Last Wish, “The Voice of Reason,” new cover art by Kai Carpenter, and a foreword by fantasy author Peter V. Brett (The Demon Cycle), as well as silver foil gilded pages, a foil-stamped cover, a cover gallery, sketchbook pages, and a ribbon bookmark.

Milena Zając, editor/writer at Witcher game developer CD Projekt Red, comments, “It is uncertain if ‘The Voice of Reason’ is a glue between the stories, or if it is the stories that make ‘The Voice of Reason’ a whole. It serves an insight on Geralt and his place in the world as a witcher, giving more background to his complex character. But for me, it’s also a reminder of the importance of therapy — a break to reflect on what we’re going through. Between hunting evil and filth, this professional monster slayer also experiences moments of contemplation. That’s why it’s an inseparable part of The Complete Collection.”
As well as “The Voice of Reason,” the book contains:
- A Grain of Truth (2022), by Jacek Rembis, Jonas Scharf, Jose Villarrubia, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou
The Lesser Evil (2023), by Jacek Rembis, Adam Gorham, Patricio Delpeche, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou
The Edge of the World (2025), by Magdalena Salik, Tommaso Bennato, Chris O’Halloran, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou
A Question of Price (2025), by Marta Krajewska, Matteo Bellisario, Igor Monti, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou
The Witcher (2025), by Aleksandra Zielinska, Michael Dowling, Luis NCT, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou
The Last Wish itself (releasing beforehand on August 11, 2026), by Marcin Zwierzchowski, Guillermo Fajardo, Neeraj Menon, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou
Zwierzchowski, a senior editor/writer at CDPR, adds, “Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher short stories are masterpieces of fantasy short fiction. Every single one of them is a masterclass in character creation, subtle worldbuilding, and efficient prose. To be able to adapt them for a comic book medium, and see Geralt, Yennefer, Dandelion and others take shape with help of talented artists, is an honor and a dream come true.”
The Complete Collection will be released on December 15, and retail at 384 pages for $124.99. It should coincide with the fifth and final version of the Netflix series (which covered these stories in its first two seasons from 2019 to 2021), which doesn’t have a release date yet, and arrive ahead of the newly announced Witcher 3 DLC, Songs of the Past, that will be released sometime next year. A trade paperback of Dark Horse’s latest original Witcher comic, Blood Stone, will also be published on October 27.
