Bandai Namco Pictures previously put together a new anime series that will debut in July 2024 with Wistoria: Wand and Sword. The series adapts the original manga by writer Fujino Omori and artwork by Toshi Aoi, which began in 2020 and has nine volumes out, with it ongoing and released in English through Kodansha Comics. Omori is known primarily for their work on the Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? light novel series.

With a July 7th, 2024, premiere date, the home video releases in Japan are finally set from Bandai Namco. The distributor has opted for two sets for the twelve-episode series with English subtitles included. Both sets are listed as limited editions priced at 18,000 yen.

Now, the second season has been scheduled as a two-volume series on Blu-ray, where they’re priced at 22,000 yen each. Check out the full schedule and known details below.

The season features the opening theme song “Fire and Fear” from Penguin Research and the ending theme song “Frozen” from TRUE.

The anime has Tatsuya Yoshihara working as the director and on the series composition and scripts. Ayaka Ono is handling the character designs and serving as the chief animation director at Actas × Bandai Namco Pictures.

The Japanese cast includes Kohei Amasaki as Will Serfort, Akira Sekine as Elfaria Albis Serfort, Satomi Amano as Colette Loire, Masaaki Mizunaka as Sion Alster, Aoi Inase as Kiki, Satomi Amano as Colette Loire, Masaaki Mizunaka as Zion Alster, Aoi Inase as Kiki, Tetsuya Kakihara as Julius Rainburg, Kengo Kawanishi as Ignor Lindor, Lynn as Liana Owenzaus, Tomokazu Seki as Workner Norgram, Koji Yusa as Ligarden as Edward Serfence, Rumi Okubo, Kazuki Ura, Tomohiro Ono, Shinya Takahashi, Atsushi Tamaru, Reiko Suzuki, Jun Fukuyama, Makoto Furukawa, Sora Amamiya, Hochu Otsuka, and Akio Otsuka.

Plot Concept: A hard-working boy named Will enters a magic academy in hopes of becoming a great sorcerer. Unfortunately, there’s a fatal flaw in his plan: he lacks the ability to use magic. Amid the cold stares of his classmates and instructors, Will feels discouraged at times, but he presses forward with unwavering determination. He can’t use a wand, but he can wield a sword in his battle to reach the top of a magic-dominated world. He just needs to believe in his own unique strengths and remember the promise he made with someone precious to him…
