A surreal slice-of-life graphic novel about three strangers trapped in a house floating in an endless void.
Goats Flying Press already has an impressive track record eith their releases, and this debut graphic novel should just add to it. Nighthawks Vol. 1 blends psychological horror, surreal mystery, and deeply human character drama into a visually striking and unforgettable indie graphic novel. Genuinely, I had to take moments to pore over the amount of detail in the project’s images. A lot is being offered here just in the first scroll. The premise is absurd in a good way, which immediately hooks you: three strangers trapped inside a house floating in an endless void, forced to confront both the mystery around them and their own emotional baggage. What makes the project especially interesting is its atmosphere and craft. Creator Jimmy Li spent six years developing the story’s world, aesthetic, and characters, resulting in a 250-page full-color book with a distinct punk-inspired visual identity that really does pour out on every page. For readers who enjoy experimental comics, introspective storytelling, and creator-owned passion projects, Nighthawks offers something hauntingly personal and genuinely original, do not miss out.

WICKERSON: Tales from the Grove
Creators: Derek Laufman (Creator/Artist/Writer)
Goal: $3,605
End Date: June 23, 2026
Goodies: Get the digital copy for $20, the physical copy for $22, the collectors bundle for $44, the indie bundle for $58, and much more!
A collection of stories by Derek Laufman from the vast world of Wickerson Grove.
It’s rare for projects to have a sense of nostalgia to them; in this case, WICKERSON really hit all the buttons. In that sense, its hard not to think of Mouse Gaurd when you see small animals roaming the world, and yet, it offered so much more than just some simple little feelings. The project makes itself all the more appealing because it combines that charm of classic fantasy adventure with dark folklore, humor, and the cartooning style Derek Laufman has become known for. It’s not their first rodeo, and the anthology expands the world of The Witch of Wickerson with new stories, updated full-color artwork, and a richer comic format that gives the setting even more depth. Laufman’s experience working on titles like I Hate Fairyland and his long history in comics only improves the quality of the project, while the campaign itself feels creator-driven and personal. For readers who enjoy imaginative fantasy worlds, expressive artwork, and indie comics with heart, WICKERSON offers a polished and accessible gateway into a larger universe.
