Now a few years in, DC’s Absolute Universe continues firing on all cylinders. Case in point — Friday, the publisher announced that the debut issue of Absolute Green Arrow from the creative team of of Eisner Award-winning writer Pornsak Pichetshote and artist Rafael Albuquerque has already sold out at the distributor level and is heading back to print. The highly anticipated series has yet to hit the shelves at comic stores, with its release date set for next week, May 20th.

The second printing will feature the primary cover from the first printing, crafted by Rafael Albuquerque and Marcel Maiolo, with a new colorway on its logo along with open-to-order variant covers by Ivan Tao, and Tula Lotay (foil).
“We have two new launches this year, starting in May, with Absolute Green Arrow. This is from Pornsak Pichetshote, who is here in the room with us, one of the writers of the hit Exquisite Corpses. He is joined by Rafael Albuquerque, a legend,” longtime DC editor Chris Conroy said of the title at ComicsPRO earlier this year. “If any of you read the Absolute Evil one-shot that teed this up, we introduced Oliver Queen the Green Arrow — and immediately killed him. How are we going to do a book after killing the lead character? I’m so glad you asked.”
He added, “Oliver Queen may be dead. The Green Arrow is not dead. A serial killer called the Longbow Hunter is hunting down the billionaires responsible for Oliver Queen’s death. Nobody knows who the Longbow Hunter is, but it is down to Agent Dinah Lance to find out. This is a slasher horror series. This is Scream, Halloween, meets Green Arrow. Six issues from Pornsak and Rafael, starting in May,”
Absolute Green Arrow #1 is set to hit the shelves at your local comic shop on May 20th followed by its second printing seeing release on June 17th.
