Welcome to Irabu’s Office
Fans looking for something that slipped through the cracks over the years will want to go and check out Welcome to Irabu’s Office. The 2009 single-season series from Toei Animation is set for streaming on OceanVeil on May 5th, 2026, at 6:00 pm EDT. It’ll be in its original Japanese language with English subtitles.
Known originally as Kūchū Buranko, it comes from original creator Hideo Okuda. Kenji Nakamura directed the series from the composition by Manabu Ishikawa. Takashi Hashimoto handled the character designs with Toei Animation on the production.
The Japanese cast includes Romi Park as Ichirō Irabu, Yūji Mitsuya as Ichirō Irabu, Daisuke Namikawa as Shin’ichi Bandō, Hiroaki Hirata as Tatsurō Ikeyama, Hiroki Takahashi as Seiji Ino, Kenji Fukui as Fukuicchi, Mitsuo Iwata as Yoshio Iwamura, and Miyu Irino as Yūta Tsuda.
Plot concept: The psychiatric ward at Irabu General Hospital is where many patients with different problems visit: a trapeze artist suffering from insomnia after suddenly failing his jumps, a yakuza who is afraid of sharp objects, and a businessman who has a 24-hour erection, and so on. There, they receive treatment from Dr. Ichiro Irabu, the child-like son of the hospital director. Assisting him is the sullen-faced sexy nurse Mayumi. With his mysterious injections and advice that makes no sense, Dr. Irabu throws his patients into confusion. However, through their encounters with Dr. Irabu and his seemingly outrageous treatments, the patients begin to reflect on themselves and gradually find peace of mind.
