Marvel and DC have released two new crossovers, respectively on Marvel Unlimited and DC Universe Infinite: It’s Jeff/Aquaman, by Kelly Thompson & Andres Genolet, and Supergirl/Blade, by CRC Payne, Mikel Janín, & Hugo Petrus. Both are comics are available now, for free, although in It’s Jeff/Aquaman’s case, it’ll only be redeemable for a limited time with the code CROSSOVER26.
“It’s no day at the beach when Ken the Kaiju terrorizes Coney Island! It’ll take the aquatic alliance you’ve only dared dream of to turn the tide, as everyone’s favorite Land Shark, Jeff, and the legendary Aquaman unite to save the day!”
“When Mojo kidnaps Supergirl and Blade to star in his hot new vampire romance show, the Girl of Steel and the Daywalker must team up against bloodsucking vampires, romance tropes, and Mojo himself to fight their way to freedom. The cameras are rolling, the tension is high, and the stakes are very real.”
Like last year’s digital exclusives Thor/Shazam! and The Flash/Fantastic Four, which coincided with the release of the Batman and Deadpool crossover specials, these books come in the wake of DC’s Superman/Spider-Man, and ahead of the arrival of Marvel’s Spider-Man/Superman (due out April 22.) It’s Jeff/Aquaman marks the latest in a long line of Unlimited exclusive Jeff books from his co-creator Thompson, and comes shortly after the relaunch of Aquaman’s solo ongoing as Emperor Aquaman with last month’s issue #15.
Supergirl/Blade writer CRC Payne previously contributed to this year’s special Supergirl Next Door. Her book also heralds the release of the Maiden of Might’s new movie on June 26, as well as DC’s “Summer of Supergirl” publishing program capitalizing on the film. (Incidentally, the movie features Jason Momoa, who was the DCEU’s Aquaman, as Lobo.) Blade’s latest film appearance, meanwhile, remains 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, with the long-gestating reboot starring Mahershala Ali still MIA.
