After receiving an anime TV series in the spring of 2018, the manga Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii, aka Love is Hard for an Otaku, has been a staple of Prime Video for some time. The property is now about to make a potential move as it’s listed on the service as expiring in about ten days or so. It’s likely not to be renewed, but it could see a pickup by another service and get a new lease on life.
The series is directed by Yoshimasa Hiraike based on the series composition that he put together. Takahiro Yasuda is handling the character design with A-1 Pictures handling the animation.
The cast from the web promos for the manga will be reprising their roles for the show with Arisa Date as Narumi Momose, Kento Itou as Hirotaka Nifuji, Miyuki Sawashiro as Hanako Koyanagi, Tomokazu Sugita as Tarou Kabakura, and Yuki Kaji as Naoya Nifuji.
The manga comes from Fujita that began in 2014. The opening theme song is “Fiction” as performed by sumika.
