Whether you’re a comics veteran or newly dipping your toes in, it can often be difficult to stay up to date with the latest comic book releases month to month.

Everything from seemingly endless single-issue drops every Wednesday from multiple publishers, all offering some of the best printed stories around.

You can even pick up new trade paperback collections, omnibuses and compendiums, collections, and so much more each month. If the sheer amount of options is stressing you out, have no fear, I’m going to try to make things a bit easier for you.

Our Top Comic Picks Releasing in April 2026

This guide is by no means an exhaustive list of every comic and graphic novel coming out in April 2026, as that would quite literally take forever, but these are some of the stories we think you should have on your radar.

And whether it’s shopping for physical books at your local comic store or reading online, there are plenty of ways to get your comics fix each month.

Single Issues Coming Out This Month

With DC’s Absolute Universe in full swing and no end in site, I can’t recommend enough that DC fans check out any of the ongoing slate. Absolute Batman is the flagship title of this intiative, and issue #19 starts a brand new arc featuring new interpretations of Bat’s iconic Rogue’s gallery.

For Marvel fans, Daredevil #1 from writer Stephanie Phillips with art from Lee Garbett introduces new villain Omen in an all-new era for the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. It’s also a great time to be a Daredevil fan, with Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again’s sophomore season out now.

If you’re in need of something a little different than the typical superhero fare, Image Comics’ Monstress #61 offers a monumental new story moment that can alter Maika’s life forever in the aftermath of issue #60. And if you missed Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead during its initial run, The Walking Dead Deluxe is reprinting of the iconic horror series, but in full color for the first time. Issue #134 is out and part of the Whisperer arc

    Graphic Novels Out This Month

If you’re more of a patient reader and prefer to wait for collections of single issues, there are plenty of upcoming trade paperbacks, omnibuses, and graphic novels dropping before the end of April.

Notably, Invincible is being collected in hardcover for the first time with the Invincible Omnibus Vol. 1 dropping on April 28. The paperback Invincible compendiums have been out for some time, but many readers prefer the look and feel of a hardcover spine.

DC’s paperback Compact Comic editions of some of their most iconic stories are great ways to read comics on the go, and The Dark Knight Returns is the next classic Batman tales to get this treatment. It’s out on April 7, and is required reading if you’re a comics fan at all.
