Batman is a character that transcends time. Regardless of your generation, everyone has “my Batman”, whether it’s a live-action actor or an iconic voice performance. Over the last few decades we’ve had a ton of Batman movies, each with their own bespoke stories or as adaptations of some of the best comic tales around. And for those with a growing 4K Blu-ray collection, the good news is that virtually all of them have been released in 4K UHD. If you happen to have a way to play 4K Blu-ray discs, it’s the definitive way to experience your favorite Batflick at home.
Live-Action Batman Movies in 4K UHD
Every live-action interpretation of Batman is available in 4K UHD and many of them have matching cover and spine arts that make them perfect for padding your media shelf. I recommend checking out Zack Snyder’s Justice League as the true version of the movie, since it adds a ton of new context, characters, and story beats not present in its initial release. It’s also worth considering grabbing The Batman in 4K now that sequel is in production. There’s never a wrong time to revisit Robert Pattinson’s outing as the Caped Crusader.
Animated Batman Movies in 4K UHD
There’s twice as many animated Batman movies to choose from compared to live action, but they’re some of the best interpretations of the character. The LEGO Batman Movie is a more comedic take on the the Dark Knight that takes cues from the mainline LEGO movies. And many of Batman’s best comic book stories have been adapted into animated films like The Killing Joke, The Long Halloween, and (a personal favorite), and Hush. Some of the animated films take creative liberties when adapting the stories to screen, for better or worse, but either way these are great ways to experience some of the best Batman around.
Batman 4K UHD Movie Collections
And if you prefer boxed set collections, there are a handful to choose from for every flavor of Batman. The massive 4K Collection collects all of the 80’s and 90’s films, complete with making-of featurettes and crew commentaries. The Dark Knight Trilogy is one I’d highly recommend, since Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale’s take on the character is “my Batman”. There’s also a 10-film collection of animated films, the 80th Anniversary Collection, which compiles almost all of the ones mentioned above.
What’s the Best Place to Buy Batman Movies In 4K UHD?
It’s always a safe bet to start with Amazon when buying any physical movie in 4K. They seem to always have what you need in stock, and taking advantage of free shipping as a Prime member is a no brainer.
