The Guam Visitors Bureau, in partnership with the Guam International Airport Authority, invites young local artists to participate in the Guam Youth Art Contest, which aims to highlight student creativity while enhancing visitor arrival experiences.
Open to students in kindergarten through 8th grade, the contest encourages participants to create original artwork inspired by the theme, “What does Håfa Adai Spirit mean to you?”
Students are asked to submit artwork sized 11” x 14” reflecting their interpretation of Guam’s culture, hospitality, and community values.
Selected pieces will be curated for public display at the A.B. Won Pat International Airport, creating a welcoming visual experience for travelers and introducing visitors to Guam’s culture through the eyes of our island’s youth, GVB said.
“The Håfa Adai Spirit represents the warmth and hospitality that define our island,” said GVB General Manager Régine Biscoe Lee in a statement. “Through this contest, our students can share their creativity while helping welcome visitors with a sense of Guam’s culture and community the moment they arrive.”
The Youth Art Contest is part of GVB’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community engagement while enhancing Guam’s tourism experience.
By inviting local students to contribute artwork to one of the island’s most important visitor gateways, the program highlights Guam’s cultural identity and encourages Guam’s youngest generation to take pride in sharing our island’s story with travelers from around the world, GVB said.
