This month sees the release of The Rocketeer: The Island, a new miniseries from the IDW Publishing by the creative team of writer John Layman (Titans, Chew), artist Jacob Edgar (Plastic Man No More!, Batman: The Adventures Continue) and colorist K.J. Díaz (Amazing Spider-Man, Blade). Based on never-published outline by original Rocketeer creator Dave Stevens, the miniseries sees the titular travel to a mysterious island in order to save Amelia Earhart. As it turns out, our hero won’t just encounter the famous aviator on the island.
The Beat is proud to exclusively reveal solicit information for The Rocketeer: The Island #3 which will see our intrepid hero run into none other than the Eighth Wonder of the World known as Kong!
In addition to solicit information, IDW has also provided The Beat with artist Jacob Edgar’s design for Kong. According to Edgar, he drew inspiration from Bill Sienkewicz‘s depiction of Marvel villain Kingpin.
