The Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2205 project has gone along well and with the second and final part out last year, we knew previously that there is more on the way. The Rebel 3199 project was previously announced as the sequel series, and it was confirmed that it would be set for a twenty-six-episode run when it was broken down into that format.
With the first of seven film versions making a July 19th, 2024, debut, the second chapter arrived on November 22nd, 2024, and the third debuted on April 11th, 2025, as Ultramarine Asteroid. At the time, the fourth installment was scheduled with an October 10th, 2025, release under the name The Aqua Sasha.
The sixth film was recently set for a June 26th, 2026, release date, and it’ll go with the subtitle of Blue Labyrinth when it arrives. With that set up back in February, we now have a new promotional video for the project that gives us some exciting visuals.
The announced cast includes Makoto Furukawa as Alphon, Shun Horie as Isidore, Takuya Eguchi as Lambell, Yūto Uemura as Takeshi Ageha, Kōsuke Toriumi as Seiya Kitano, Daisuke Ono as Susumu Kodai, Houko Kuwashima as Yuki Mori, Anan Furuya as Jirō Shima, Ayahi Takagaki as Saki Tōdō, Chitose Morinaga as Caroline Raiden, Hōchū Ohtsuka as Shirō Sanada, Kenichi Suzumura as Daisuke Shima, Kenji Akabane as Yasuo Nanbu, Kent Itō as Shigeru Sakamoto, Masato Kokubun as Yoshikazu Aihara, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Tasuke Tokugawa, Ryūichi Kijima as Tetsuya Kitano, Shinobu Matsumoto as Kōzō Nanbu, Tasuku Hatanaka as Ryūsuke Domon, Tesshō Genda as Kotetsu Serizawa, Tomo Muranaka as Miyako Kyōzuka, Toshihiko Kojima as Heikurō Tōdō, Wataru Hatano as Heiji Bandō, and Yūki Chiba as Kenjirō Ōta.
Naomichi Yamato is directing it from the scripts by supervising director Harutoshi Fuku and co-writing with Hideki Oka. Nobuteru Yuki is on board for the character designs for it.
The previous season of the show was directed by Nobuyushi Habara based on the series composition by Harutoshi Fukui. Nobuteru Yuki handled the character designs with Xebec handling the animation production.

Plot Concept: It’s been three years since the Yamato’s voyage to restore Earth, and since then, a lasting peace with the Gamilans has borne fruit. Due to Earth’s newly acquired technological might, humankind has begun a military expansion. However, Gatlantis, a new threat lurking far beyond our star system, will once again put humanity to the test. Responding to a mysterious plea, the Yamato and its crew must undertake one more mission for the good of their species and of the universe itself.
